Gale Virtual Reference Library (eBooks): Two useful resources - Encyclopedia of Gender & Society and Gender Issues & Sexuality
Country Watch - Get stats about women today (current maternal mortality/birth rate, education levels, etc). Choose a country; scroll down the menu on the left; under "Social Overview" click on "Status of Women" and "Global Gender Gap Index"
Discovering Collection: Do an advanced search & search for keywords "women" and the name of the country

Gapminder.org - graphs, charts, data on women's issues (birthrates, etc.) in the world. Dates vary, but some data goes back to the 1800s. Use the date slider to change the date.
